Online Video Ads Get a Bigger Role


Count them in dollars and cents, and online video ads generate modest revenue. But they're growing fast, thanks to the dramatic adoption of broadband. Since online video costs far less to air than TV ads, advertisers are experimenting with them, running ads as short as five seconds, and even inviting the public to produce them. As the boundaries between television and the Internet continue to blur, many of these experiments are likely to become standard fare for viewers by late this decade -- no matter which screen they're watching.
